A ****MUST**** READ!!!

The coincidences in my story today are truly amazing and I am confirmed that the Lord has allowed this all to come to fruition. It started many years ago with a childhood friendship of mine. Her name was Courtney and the memory that reigns the truest in my mind was her “un-matching, inside out sock fetish”. I will tell you, our friendship started during the years of our lives where wearing socks with church sandal shoes was not uncommon. We didn’t bother with such things, we were too busy playing outside and giggling about girly things.
From there, many years pass in between and our lives took us in separate directions. We made the effort at pen pals for quite awhile, until the everyday occurrences took effect and we lost touch for a few years. Due to the recent technologies of Facebook, I see how this world really is a small world when you picture the big scheme of things.
The church I attended just before I got married had many great Godly people in attendance. There was one special woman who touched my life in great ways and is still seeming to find a way to do so, even though she is now at home with the Lord! Her name was Beverly King. We sat next to one another in choir. She has a passion and love for the Lord grouped with a strong desire to serve Him. She followed my life story as we talked each week about the new events happening in my life. When my husband asked me to marry him and I came to choir that night showing off my ring, she even had tears in her eyes as she told me how confident she was that I would make a GREAT Godly wife. Every time she saw me, she asked about my husband and told me how handsome he was. Older people can get away with those kinds of things. J When it came time for the blessed event and I was soon to be “Mrs. McKenzie”, Miss Beverly gave me one of my most priced wedding gifts. Her mother’s silver. She spoke of the unfortunate circumstances of not having any daughters and sons that didn’t have any care for anyone but themselves. Beverly told me she just knew I would be a wife that would love to throw dinner parties and would have a very inviting home. (which is definitely something I strive for!!) She wanted me to have her Mother’s silver and it has been something that I have cherished so greatly that I have only used it on one occasion!
A little while after I married and followed my husband to his church, I heard the news that Miss Beverly had passed away. I wasn’t able to make it to her funeral but my mother did. She mentioned an old friend, we knew from our past, being there and something about her being related to Beverly in some way. It got dismissed and was put in the back of my mind and has been eating at me ever since!
Today, I found the missing link. The woman that attended Beverly’s funeral is the half sister of my childhood friend. Beverly is her great Aunt. Which would make my friend Courtney, also Beverly’s great niece. Are you still with me here? In summary, the silver that Miss Beverly gave to me actually belonged to my friend Courtney’s GREAT GRANDMOTHER!!! Can you believe the connection to that?! I had no idea that Courtney was even related! She told me that her grandmother (Beverly’s sister) passed away in October of 2008 and would have LOVED to hear the story of the silver.
At that point, it just made sense. As much as this gift meant to me, it meant EVEN MORE to me to be able to “store it” for a little while. I will think of it as a safe keeping for an intended time. And now, it is time to return it to it’s rightful owner. The great granddaughter of the original owner.
Think that is the end to my story?!?!? NOPE! It gets BETTER!!! I got Courtney’s new address, with plans to send her the silver. But after talking a little bit about life and new things happening, she found out we are heading to CA in a week and a half and get this…..she lives just one hour from Disney Land!! So, we’ve arranged meeting plans to get together and catch up and I can give her the silver!!! I’m just so excited and amazed all at the same time!!
