18 Days Till. . .

I am still getting over the shock! I didn't even know this was going to be possible! God has really been providing for us since we moved up here to Anacortes and we've been pinching those pennies for quite some time for this. The first talk of this vacation happened before we were even married. We planned to do this for our honeymoon but things didn't work out. Then we talked about our first yr. anniversary......then our 3rd year & our 5th.....still nothing fit into plans for money and time. We revisited the thought of Disneyland with some friends of ours and started to look into maybe taking the trip this summer with two other couples and still the plans fell through. We talked about still taking a vacation but we undecided on where, until my husband said, "We could still do Disneyland, just the two of us. How about you look into it and see what it would cost". So I did!!!! And I was pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive it was (in comparison to what I thought it would be) for a flight/hotel/admission to Disney/CA adventure. So, we crunched the numbers and decided we could afford it. But then, there was still the issue of WHEN to go. We both agreed that CA in the dead of summer would be miserably and ridiculously hot for us sissy "northwesterners" so that left us with April-May or sometime after September. . . .Now, October is Home missions conference.....November is Holidays.....December is more holidays....And then, we found out that Bo's boss was taking a vacation in April and was planning on closing the business for a week. So, rather than have 2 weeks without pay, we figured we could kill two birds with one stone and plan our vacation for the same time! WOO HOO! At this point I was starting to actually feel like it was real & going to happen! There was just one small slight issue to deal with. The dogs. Our usual dog sitter just so happens to be Bo's boss and as I said before, he will be on vacation that same week. I was losing hope. :( One dog is hard enough to find someone to watch but TWO dogs?!?! Eek! BUT, I like stories with happy endings so........we found someone to housesit for us for the entire time we will be gone. YAY!!!! It is actually happening........and in ONLY 18 days!!!!!!!!!!
I've only been to Disneyland 1 time and Disneyworld 2 times and that was AGES ago! Literally ages....I was 9 or 10 when I went last?? ( Do you remember how old we were Cassie?!?!?!) I went to Disneyworld when I was 15, my grandparents live really close to it and I got to go on my very first trip by myself to visit them!! Anyway......I am curious to hear tips any of you may have from recent Disneyland adventures. ie. what are the best rides? Where are the best places to eat? Any parades?
