I am thrilled to be writing today to share my newest beauty lovelies. I've been "hemming and hawing" (SP?) over Bare Minerals makeup for quite some time now. I have spent the last several years trying to keep up with the new "Mineral Makeup Movement" and have tried all the knock off cheaper brands of the original stuff. I've used Loreal, Maybelliene, Mary Kay, Physican's Formula, Avon...etc.....and although I thought I had a fairly decent thing going with the ones I had been trying, I had NO idea how much BETTER the Bare Minerals makeup really was until I broke down and used some of my bonus money on it. I didn't want to shell out too much for the initial cost in case I wasn't all that impressed so I bought a small kit online for $14.95 and was INSTANTLY THRILLED!!!!! All the promises that the product makers made for Bare Minerals just seemed a little bit too good to be true to me. I mean, FULL coverage?! Seriously? From just powder? They must be glorifying it or just starting out with models who have perfect skin I thought. Even with using other brands of mineral foundation, I would still apply a "wet" concealer underneath it for the dark circles and blemishes. Which always ended up looking unnatural by the end of the day when half of the makeup had worn off but my "stay put" wet concealer had not. Anyway.....I'm writing today to put my official stamp of approval on the stuff. NO KNOCK OFF BRANDS!! The real stuff made by Bare Minerals is completely worth the money if you are looking for these things....
- Smooth Complexion
- Won't clog pores
- Plenty of coverage
- Makeup you can sleep in (their advertisment)
- Natural look
- Glowing skin
I would have to say my favorite part of the makeup would definitely be the "bronzer" and "glow". Even my husband noticed a difference and said it looked amazing. It gives the perfect "Sun kissed" look without stepping foot in the sun and without looking fake! Now, I will tell you this......the first kit I bought for 14.95 came with some cheapo brushes which are NOT worth their weight in gold. If you are going to try this product I definitely recommend the bare minerals brushes for the best application. They made all the difference for me! Since falling in love with the mini kit that I bought, I decided to invest in the large sizes of the foundation, mineral veil and glow, which leaves me with the perfect travel size kit! Ebay was my store. Alrighty, enough of my little commercial.......I took a pic just to be able to show you the new glow I am sportin' (and I don't even have to be pregnant for this one!). Let me know if you decide to jump on the band wagon with me or if you have already done it. I am curious to know your experiences with it.
OH, I LOVE bare minerals! I was just like you thinking, yeah riiiiight.... good coverage?? Doubtful! Well, I was thouroughly surprised! I love the stuff! How often do you think we should wash the brushes?? I have noticed that I may be having a small reaction around my jaw line right after application, ... I get a little redness and itchiness... perhaps I need to wash my brushes even more often... or perhaps I'm becoming sensitive to the product?? I have almost tried the knock off brands so many times, I'm glad I never did!! Great post! Tell me what you think about the brushes. Ohhh... and I have never tried their warmth or theirk "bronzer" or "glow"... is that the specific name of the product?? Where do they sell it locally where I can go and try it? I also order all of mine from ebay... I get the 9 gram containers... such a great deal!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I've been using Bare Minerals for about 7 years now. My husband loves the way my skin looks with it! I've used the warmth (bronzer) and love it. Actually, I've jumped in and now have collected about 70 colors between the cheeks, eyes, liners, radiance face colors. Yikes! Can you tell I'm a makeup junkie???? But, I LOVE their products! I've been tempted thru the years to try some of the knockoff brands but just can't bring myself to waste the money. I do check ebay and have bought some from there. But mostly I buy from QVC. You can get their products from one of their boutiques, QVC, Ulta, Sephora, Nordstrom, Macys (just to name a few). I usually get it online. I hope I never have to use a knockoff brand. I hope I can alway afford to buy Bare Minerals! Welcome aboard to the mineral revolution!
